I think the biggest fear a lot of us have is the fear of the unknown. It is hard to jump into something without knowing what you are getting into. Trust me, I have experienced this first hand. However, when the opportunity arises, these unknowns are actually blessings in disguise.
There are so many unknowns when you book your first boudoir shoot. I say first because I have so many ladies that book two, three or four sessions after their first. I am eager to eliminate the unknown and share what to expect not only the day of your session but leading up to it as well.
All of my sessions start with us having a conversation. So before you secure your date you have the opportunity to ask any questions. I am also going to be available for you to ask any questions leading up to your session. I am only an email away!
Ultimately, when it comes down to it your session is 10000000% about you. A boudoir shoot is always about self-love and self-care, so it comes down to your likes and dislikes. The first step is being honest with yourself and your photographer. Keeping that line of communication open will help give you the best experience possible.
Probably the biggest piece of advice I can give you that I want you to tell yourself every day after booking your session: “There isn’t any expectations of me.”
I mean, other than bringing lingerie that fits properly and you love. I’ll say it again, your session is 10000000% about you!! It is your day to relax and reconnect with yourself. I provide a professional hair and make-up artist, and I will plan your outfits for the sets. I also have all the knowledge of guiding you with posing! So there is really nothing you need to worry about the day of your session!!
Everything I do leads me to remaining true to my authentic self. I want that for you too, and even if you don’t know what that looks like now, it is something we can find together. It is a beautiful thing and it is so easy to recognize day after day once you arrive there.
It all starts with being honest with yourself. Recently I learned that that can be easier said than done. However, when you start to be honest with yourself, your true authentic self will shine. This is my goal for you anyways when you step into my studio. I offer my studio as a safe space for women to reconnect with themselves.
When you secure your session with me, I block the whole day off for you! Not only are we going to be spending about four hours together, I don’t want to have any other obligations on your day.
Your session will start at 9 Am and we go straight into hair and make up, which is about 90 minutes. While you are getting glammed up, I go through the outfits that you brought. We discuss your pieces, so I know which ones you love and which ones you are a little uncomfortable with. Then, I plan the outfits with their sets accordingly.
After hair and makeup, we will start your session. The photoshoot itself is about an hour, sometimes if we are feeling inspiration it can go a few minutes longer. The session is never longer than 90 minutes, but the latest we go to is about 1 pm. I guide you through all the sets and will pose you from head to toe as well as facial expressions.
Now that you know what to expect, you can see there is no need to worry. I am here to guide you through this ENTIRE process from beginning to the end. We will have so much fun during your session. We will laugh and we will cry (mainly from laughing too hard).
I love seeing women transform through the lens of my camera!! I can’t wait to see you shine!
